Beware of scams! What happens with these breads?
Scams are everywhere!
The integral loaves: it is a relatively recent world. On the one hand, they became fashionable in recent times, on the other hand, people buy them because they are considered healthy; and finally, in most places, they are more expensive than “conventional” breads.
Now, the reality is this: many times, shopper (not all of them) seek to make small lies, in order to sell … however, these small lies can have a very high price over their regular buyers.
It is full of cases, food scandals appear every day, all over the world.
How is this atrocity possible?
The question is this: in many countries the legal regulations indicate that you can call “bread” to all bread that has in its preparation, a part of “integral”! That is, there is no specific amount needed.
In this case you have to know the following: only 33% of the loaves that are sold as wholemeal are made entirely with wholemeal flour … that’s right!
In fact, according to studies carried out, only 30-35% of the products of “wholemeal bread” are made entirely with “wholemeal flour”, and 15% do not comply with the current Health Technical Regulation when mixing refined flours and bran flours.
Apparently, only 26% of whole-grain breads are what they claim to be; that is, wholemeal breads made with wholemeal flour.
The recommendation that the associations give is therefore to try to make the integral bread in your own home, on your own. Difficult task, given the environmental conditions today; we already know.
Although … maybe it’s time to try it once in a while.
