Canis lupus familiaris

Woof! Woof!

The dog was the first domesticated species and has been selectively bred  over millennia for various behaviors, sensory capabilities, and physical attributes. Dogs were depicted to symbolize guidance, protection, loyalty, fidelity, faithfulness, watchfulness, and love, and apparently, scientist and their new research seems to tell us that the dog’s high sociability may be affected by “the same genes as humans.” This means they are educated, too. This awesome process it´s explained thanks to the long term association with human beings. However, humans, change too when they are with their dogs. Both take profit of this beautiful relation. We know this now, and in the past too: in art and culture, dogs were depicted to symbolize love, guidance, protection, royalty, fidelity, faithfulness. There are even sculptures of dogs, all over the world; some scientists say this is because of two consequences: dogs were not only pets, but food too… (we are here not to judge, but in some Asian countries it is still a popular and common dish).

The fact is that, having a dog as a pet (and a pet in general), makes you feel really good.

Not only you play with them, thus, they oblige you t go outside… walk with them, run with them (this is in fact one type of nice way of practicing sport?  think it is!)

If you live alone, you will have your dog waiting for you at the door, and will give you tones of humid kisses. They will shake their whole body in order to show you that they are happy you are here. They will approach in order to receive a sweet hug and affection. This emotional approach to another being, produces you obvious positive good effects:  dogs  low your stress levels!

In addition to this, you can distract yourself watching dogs problems: they turn around at the same place, they watch their food and don´t eat it, then… they smell each other, etc, etc. They can help you to find love too: for example, you are walking through the park, and you dog starts smelling another dog… that awkward moment can make you start a new conversation… your dogs made match between them, and you both –owners- too! Like the 101 Dalmatians, movie!

Another fact:  They can improve your immune system while you get in contact with them, because the additional germs that enter your organism can help improve your immunity, t several possible diseases.

Last but not least, if you have toddlers at home, they wll really show them how love works!
